    Sunitinib Malate Capsules 50 mg

    STORAGE AND HANDLING

    Care should be exercised in the handling of SUNITINIB. SUNITINIB Capsules should not be opened or crushed. Store the capsules at 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted to 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).

    SUNITINIB DOSAGE

    • Take suninat exactly the way your doctor tells you. It should be taken 1 time each day with or without food.
    • If you take suninat for GIST or RCC, you will usually take your capsules for 4 weeks (28 days) and then stop for 2 weeks (14 days). This is 1 cycle of treatment. You will be prescribed to repeat this treatment cycle for as long as your doctor tells you to.
    • If you take suninat for pNET, take it 1 time every day until your doctor tells you to stop.
    • If you forget a suninat dose by less than 12 hours, take the forgotten dose as soon as you can. If you forget a sunitinib dose by more than 12 hours, just take your next dose at about your regular time. Avoid making up the missed dose.
      Contact your healthcare practitioner right away, if you take an excess dose of suninat.

    SUNITINIB SIDE EFFECTS

    Most common adverse reactions include, loss of appetite, tiredness, weakness, diarrhea, pain, swelling or sores inside of your mouth, nausea, indigestion, vomiting, stomach-area (abdominal) pain, blisters or rash on the palms of your, hands and soles of your feet, low platelet counts, high blood pressure, and taste changes.

    WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

    • Your healthcare practitioner will do blood tests prior to each cycle of the treatment in order to check you for sunitinib side effects.
    • In patients with diabetes, blood glucose levels should be checked at the regular basis to assess if anti diabetic drug dosage needs to be adjusted in order to minimise the risk of hypoglycaemia.
    • The therapy of sunitinib needs to be discontinued in patients with the necrotising fasciitis and appropriate treatment is promptly initiated.
    • Patients need to be instructed that depigmentation of the hair/skin may also appear while on treatment.
    • Sunitinib should be avoided during pregnancy. Women of childbearing potential must avoid conceiving a baby while on this drug.
    • Women on this medication should not breastfeed.
    • Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit during your treatment with this drug. They may cause you to have excess drugs in your body.
